Since 1979, Uhuru Foods has raised funds to support the African-led Uhuru Movement. Uhuru Foods supports the black community's call for a real, lasting peace through shared prosperity and economic development. We believe social justice should be measured by tangible acts in the world, not just in well-wishing.

The work of Uhuru Foods is coordinated by the African People's Solidarity Committee, an organization formed by and working under the leadership of the Uhuru Movement to build solidarity among white people for the liberation and justice of Africa and African people.

Located in St. Petersburg, Florida and in Oakland, California, Uhuru Foods coordinates food booths at Farmer's Markets, Streetfairs and Music Festivals.

Uhuru Holiday Pies

We also co-sponsor the Uhuru Holiday Pie Campaign, a fundraiser for the African People's Education and Defense Fund. For 24 years, the Uhuru Holiday Pie Campaign has been a holiday tradition allowing the broadest sector of our communities to support economic development and social justice for African people.
